As a wedding and event photographer, I’m constantly working with people that want to look their best. While I often adjust many photos for color and lighting in the post production process, healthy and radiant skin is often a welcome priority for many clients prior any photo shoot. For this reason I was thankful for my chance to learn more from (and work with) a local expert on healthy skin care.
Tara Foley has recently launched her Boston based storefront “Follain” in the South End. While many in Boston pride themselves on a healthy lifestyle, she has experienced a lack of access to natural and organic skincare products. Her boutique experience is on a mission to change that, and to make the world a more beautiful place, by offering the highest quality products that are free from harmful chemicals.
After working on a lavender farm in France (one of the most popular ingredients in many of the products she sells) Tara found herself blogging about environmentally sound skincare products and manufacturing in Maine. Today she takes a hands-on approach, engaging customers face-to-face each day.
Many brides will still rely on the talented makeup artists that Boston has to offer, but for those that are eco-conscious, or want a natural and healthy alternative, Follain proves to be a one stop shop for personal products as well as thoughtful gifts.
I genuinely enjoyed spending the afternoon with Tara and also learning how this strategy could apply to myself as well. During each wedding and event, I often find myself exposed to harsh elements (such as the sun) and have recently tried to become more aware of the long term effects. Tara was wonderful in helping me understand that certain products could actually be hurting more than helping. I’m grateful for her personal support and for setting me on the right path.
