Las Vegas is not ALL about the glitz and glam… ok… well it really IS… but Meghan, Wes and I managed to get off the Vegas Strip to visit The Red Rock Canyon which is about 15 minutes west of Vegas and one of the most scenic spots to visit in Southern Nevada. ‘Red Rock’ as it is known to the locals, gets its name from the red colored sandstone formation embedded in the mountains. These layers streak horizontally across the mountains known as the Wilson Cliffs and can be seen from almost anywhere in the Las Vegas valley.
The weather was quite nice and wasn’t too warm considering that Vegas heat can easily get up to 110 degrees. It didn’t matter because this couple was HOT and made my camera smoke! I have to mention though that they were super nice though… I had been in main communications with Meghan and when I met Wes he was a little quiet. He shared with me later that he was dreading the session because his impression was that it was going to be boring and stodgy.
By the end of the night they shared with me how much fun they had and offered to take me out to dinner at one of their favorite local restaurants called BJ’s Pizza. I was very grateful and we were all starving so it worked out well! The highlight of my night was when we had something called a Pizookie. It’s basically a cookie in a tin pan with ice cream plopped on top but darn was it awesome tasting! They actually had brought these out to us FREE just because our meal was a little delayed. We hadn’t even questioned where our meal was and they offered up a round for the whole table… Now THAT is service. Bravo BJs Restaurant! You rock!
We were all getting along so well and I found out that Wes is quite outgoing after he gets to know you a bit. On a side note I also felt like I was eating with a famous celebrity singer… (You’ll see what I mean when you see the photos below) I found it kind of funny that in a city of entertainment impersonators that I had managed to photograph two celeb look-a-likes. I have another post with a girl that looks like a bland between Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman. I’ll let you figure this one out though. :)
One other thing about this couple that I absolutely loved was the fact that they could turn their look and style from personable to “fierce” with the flip of a switch. My disclaimer for knowing where thh Tyra Banks “fierce” comes from is that my wife loves to watch America’s Next Top model. I’ll sometimes tell the guys to give me “Blue Steel” and the ladies to be “Fierce.” It usually gets a good laugh from them.
So that being said here’s a loveable couple that knows how to turn on the attitude for the camera.
