I joined Angela and Zach for their October wedding in Raleigh, North Carolina at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. It was a small intimate wedding with some great personal touches. The ceremony was held in the church and the reception was held in a small courtyard outside. They had chosen me for their wedding photography through a unique connection.
So how did I meet this couple? It was actually through craigslist… but not in the way you might think. I had posted one of my couches for sale and they had responded and picked it up from me. When we met, they were just dating at the time and were both so personable that we kept in touch. Then one day Angela called me and shared the good news that she and Zach were engaged and wondered if I was available to photograph their wedding! I guess you just never know where your next client will come from… I’m so happy that I’m able to share both their friendship and special day with them.
When I arrived, I was really impressed with the decorations that the couple chose for the reception and enjoyed getting to know everyone throughout the day. I’ve also been wanting to work with a photographer named Jennifer for awhile now and this seemed to be a perfect fit for her style of shooting. She has shot along side many talented photographers in the area and has a unique eye for capturing details and those special moments and shared between families and friends.
That being said… You know how this all works so let’s check out a few of my favorite photographs that I feel captured the essence of the wedding. Congratulations Angela and Zach. I’m looking forward to hanging out soon… and as promised… introducing you to my favorite local pizza place…

The bouquet and flowers were provided by Greg Warren Flowers. They smelled amazing and were exceptionally vibrant in color.

Angela’s bridal jewelry as truly beautiful

I liked this photograph that Jennifer took.

Looking sharp my friend!

Here she shows off her light blue wedding shoes.

Dad gives his daughter a kiss before walking her down the aisle.

Zach was trying to sneak a peak of his bride-to-be through an open crack in the church doors.

In my experience photographers are usually asked to refrain from taking photographs during the ceremony in Episcopal churches so I don’t have a lot of those to share but I thought this was a great exit shot.

I really liked this moment of “welcome to the family” right after they were married.

There was a little drizzle and rain off and on as we took our post ceremony photographs. I really love this one where Zach is shielding Angela from the elements. It’s probably my favorite from the day.

This was a really nice wedding table centerpiece that incorporated a tree that was placed on a smalle mirror and adorned with glass jewels.

Tiny tea light candles hung from many of the branches…

and little silver birds perched throughout as well

The Trader Joe’s sparkling apple cider was perfect for a wedding in the fall.

They ended the day with a dance in the courtyard together…
