• Welcome!

Luster Studios is my personal portfolio where I share weddings, special events, engagement sessions and portraits. My origins stem from a fine arts degree in photography and computer graphics. My "style" is a perfect blend of creative ideas driven by a relaxed attitude and a fun yet thoughtful personality.

Through a combination of posing and photojournalism I strive to capture planned and spontaneous moments that will later help you relive how you were feeling at that exact moment. I'm based in North Carolina and often travel to destination locations. I look forward to getting to know what inspires you both creatively and personally.

Chapel Hill Engagement Session (Kristen + Jeremy)

What better way to kick off the fall season than with a fun engagement session. Even though the leaves hadn’t quite changed yet, Kristen, Jeremy and I had a great time hopping around Chapel Hill looking for both romantic and fun spots to shoot.

As with all couples that aren’t used to having so many pictures taken of them it took a few initial photos to get warmed up, but after we got to know each other better they were having fun in no time. That’s one of the reasons that I think these engagement sessions are important. It allows me to connect with the couple and learn more about their “style.” I think they’re going to end up being naturals in front of the camera on their wedding day. I’m really looking forward to their wedding in November!

We stumbled on some college students tight-rope walking on a flexible band. I had never seen this before. Is it something new?

It’s called slacklining. Kids who rock climb sometimes also slackline.
