Darla, David and I descended on a beautiful park called Cedar Rock Park (just south of Burlington) that I had never been to before for a wonderful engagement session. They are both huge basketball fans and we had originally planned to photograph at The Deans Dome in Chapel Hill but it’s been under construction recently with no signs of early completion.
I asked Darla where David had proposed to her and when she told me about Cedar Rock I knew that it would be perfect. She shared with me how David had written her a wonderful note. We were able to retrace their steps to the exact spot where he asked her to marry him. Darla had even brought the note along and also shared a photograph with me that she and David had taken just moments before he proposed. Very clever David!

CHEESE ALERT! – I think Darla has fallen for David… or at least tripped for him…

There was a beautiful waterfall next to the spot where he proposed which made for some unique engagement photos. I probably shouldn’t have been climbing around on the top of the wall for safety reasons but I really wanted to get a shot of them along the length of the wall looking down.

The final shots of the day was something I proposed as a possible funny idea. The park ranger came up at one point as David had Darla in a headlock and asked “Do you need any help madame?” I love the shot of both of them laughing.
