Wedding Save The Date Magnets and Thank You Cards

I just wanted to take a moment to share my appreciation to all of my clients that sent me Wedding Thank You Cards as well as Save The Date Magnets for 2010. The trust from you and your family and friends means a lot to me.

By about this time each year my wedding season is officially booked and I’ve had a chance to meet so many great people. Trust me when I say that January and February can get a little crazy since a lot of couples get engaged over the holidays. I think there’s also the realization for many people once January 1st hits that “We’re getting married this year!”

I look forward to seeing all of you soon and with these gentle reminders there’s no way I could ever forget! :)

Wedding Sparklers: Tips For The Perfect Sendoff

THE WEDDING EXIT
This often times over-looked aspect of the wedding can have added excitement and interesting photographs with a few boxes of sparklers. Fireworks. How could there be a better way to end the wedding day?

TIPS
- Make sure the burn time on the sparklers is long enough. It is best to get 20″ sparklers or longer.
- Be sure that the bride and groom are ready for their exit BEFORE lighting the first sparkler. They go fast!
- Do not use “Morning Glory” sparklers. They are too intense and cause a lot of smoke
- Avoid cheap bamboo sparklers, these drop ash when lit and can ruin clothing (like an all important wedding dress) and they also tend to be much smokier than higher quality wire sparklers

Seeing Each Other Before the Ceremony: Should We?

WHERE DOES THE TRADITION COME FROM?
There is a tradition of the bride and groom not seeing each other on their wedding day, but it stems from the ancient tradition of the bride not showing her face to the groom at all before the wedding! Many couples adhere to the not-seeing-each-other custom because they feel it adds excitement and anticipation to the ceremony itself — you know, the moment he sees you coming up the aisle.

ANOTHER OPTION
Other couples feel they’ll be more relaxed if they see each other before the ceremony — more and more even take formal pictures pre-ceremony, when everyone’s freshly done up — and claim that 15 minutes alone with their beloved calms them for the main event. It’s completely up to you two.

WHY WOULD I?
- If you’re taking a limo to the reception you’re actually able to have a true “send off”.
- Having more time to spend together with your wedding party between the ceremony and reception.
- Not keeping your guests waiting so long for your arrival. That can lower consumption of food and bar!
- In case of bad weather you have opened yourself up to having two possible choices for outdoor pictures!
- Depending on the timing of your day, you may be allowing yourself enough time to go to a second location.
- Not feeling rushed after you’ve just been married.
