Wake Living Magazine – The Triangle North Carolina

I was recently asked to provide some of my photography to be published in a local Raleigh magazine called Wake Living. If you are from North Carolina then you are probably familiar with their sister publications as well called Fifteen 501 and Triad Living. The images graced the inner pages for two separate features.

These magazine are distributed throughout the Triangle area and are packed with many great stories of local families, restaurants, and general NC lifestyle. I am very appreciative to be included in such a well written and informative set of magazines. I picked up a few copies from Raleigh Times and Morning Times this past week after sipping a tasty cappuccino. The photographs chosen were taken during the Raleigh Winterfest this past December and a session with Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tour.

A special thanks to Danielle Jackson and Sandra Simpson are in order for your wonderful writing and for giving meaning and context to my photographs.

The Knot Best Of Weddings Award 2010 – TheKnot.com Survey

The Knot just released their results for “The Knot Best Of Weddings 2010″ and I wanted to shout a huge “THANK YOU!” to all of my couples that chose Luster Studios as one of the top wedding photographers for this past year. I try to be as humble as I can about any recognition I receive, but it I will admit that it does feel good inside when someone “tips their hat” (or should I say veil?) in your direction. Over 20,000 discerning brides were asked to review their wedding vendors on everything from professionalism to creativity so this publication highlights the best wedding resources in each region.

Some of my favorite clients frequent TheKnot.com and are some of the most creative and passionate brides that you’ll ever meet… right down to even the smallest details. Since I know that these “Knotties” are VERY selective in every choice that they make for their wedding, to be reviewed so highly is “icing on the cake” for a lifestyle/career that I care so much about.

Honestly… there are so many talented wedding photographers in North Carolina (and beyond) that I feel deeply fortunate to be surrounded by others that inspire and challenge me! I often empathize with each couple that takes on the arduous task of sifting through hundreds of wedding vendors to create an All-Star team to help them execute the perfect wedding day. So… “congratulations” to all vendors and venues who worked so hard this year. I look forward to making 2010 even better!

Tre Bella Weddings / Bridal Gowns + Flowers / Holiday Party

As I asked my clients who they chose for their wedding vendors this past season, there was one name that kept coming up over and over. I’ll say it thrice so that you’ll be sure to remember it… Tre Bella Tre Bella Tre Bella! I’ve learned that great things come in threes with this group of sisters based out of North Carolina.

Last week they were kind enough to invite my wife and I to their holiday party and open house held at the Tre Bella Bridal boutique in Durham. I had not yet hung out with all three sisters in the same place and really enjoyed watching them interact with each other. They are a fun group of girls with infectious laughs and are such a pleasure to work with. If you’re getting married and they’re available please don’t hesitate to book them.

It was great seeing some old freinds and connecting with some new one’s. Happy Holidays to all and I look forward to working (and playing) with everyone next year!

Triangle Catering had these amazing hush puppy balls filled with barbeque but by the time I got back over to them to take a photo they were all gone. The shrimp hou dourves were a close second place for me though.
