I’m excited to share these wedding photographs from The Carolina Inn at Chapel Hill. Perhaps you remember Anne and Dan from their engagement session earlier this year? They are one of the sweetest couples I’ve met and are a classic example of the perfect fit. When they were younger they both went to the same Presbyterian Church on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. They later had their first date at Lake Johnson in Raleigh… and soon after fell in love. I guess they’ve technically been with each other almost their whole life! Dan even showed me the some old school photographs on the church wall to corroborate this claim.
It was at that point that I realized something funny that had happened to me when I arrived at the church earlier. It hit me like a ton of bricks that Anne has a twin sister! When her sister arrived that morning she was on her way into the church when I asked her… “So are you excited?” She looked at me a little odd and said “Yes.” I told her that I was going to be outside if she needed anything. She disappeared into the building completely confused. After we realized what had happened we all had a laugh.
Anne and Dan added just the right amount of personal touches to their reception to make it unique and fun. One of my favorite moments was when Matthew (the best man) added a high five to the wedding toast “in the style that reminds me of them the most.” Tied for first place was photographing the twin sisters pounding their chest during the “Jungle Boogie” song by Kool and the Gang!
A few other of my favorite memories were a “get down and boogie” mother and son dance, Dan being hoisted into the air by his groomsmen, the always amazing Carolina Inn food (awesome potato bar!) and the genuine comradery between friends and family. My favorite detail of the day was a wedding cake with “personal meaningful words” scripted in frosting.
To Anne and Dan… even though you two have already known each other forever… Here’s to many happy years to come! Congratulations!

The shot of Anne & Dan under the tree is my favorite! And I love the close-up of them dancing. The bubble shot is so fun, and it gives me ideas! Congratulations to a beautiful couple.
