Guess who just celebrated their wedding reception at Brier Creek Country Club… Lauren and Marc did! And guess who’s trying to get their wedding photography posted before they return from their honeymoon in Aruba… This guy! May is always a busy month for me so I hope you’ll bare with me on the brevity of this entry. I’ll hopefully be able to add more details soon!
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is that despite everyone’s best intentions to perform a scripted event, I never know what is going to happen from one minute to the next. Both families and their friends were gracious, kind and fun to be around. With over 250 in attendance it’s sometimes hard to get to know everyone as well as I would like to but the plus side is that there’s always a lot of great moments to photograph.
I wanted to send a special “Thank You!” to Lauren and Marc (and their bridal party) for going with the flow and having the courage to pose for some of the photographs that you’ll see below.
Wedding Ceremony: St Francis of Assisi
Wedding Reception: Brier Creek – Kristie Taylor

How many bridesmaids does it take to open the door…?

I enjoy watching both parents walk their children down the aisle…

I think this was my first wedding where both the bride and groom did this though… It was a nice touch.

Some of my favorite photographs are the unspoken gestures made during a wedding processional or recessional.

This is one of my favorite photographs of the day. I might have to ask dad what he was thinking at this moment… I’d love to know!

It’s extremely rare that guys get excited about wedding rings… This photograph is as hard to find as those of the Loch Ness Monster.

This is also one of my favorites of the wedding day. This Rolls Royce was the perfect getaway car for the couple!

Lauren’s sister makes some last minute tweaks to her wedding toast.

The bride and groom share their first dance.

These chocolate mice were really cute… I think they were made from Hershey’s kisses and chocolate covered cherries. As I’m typing this I just now realized that I never ate one. I must have ben to busy taking their picture. Darn!

This was a great moment where Marc thanked Lauren for all of the hard work that she did on the wedding. You can really see the wonderful expressions in their faces.

Then he ended his toast with a phrase that I had NEVER heard before… Instead of saying “Enjoy the food and alcohol.” He said “The bar’s open so everyone please enjoy the social lubrication!” It reall brought down the reception hall with laughter.

I very touching moment shared during the mother and son dance.

The family has been collecting these antique lanterns for a many years. They were a perfect compliment to the table centerpieces.

So true… I like how the lights in the background almost look like a setting sun.

The bride goes in for a little “cake cleanup” after smashing it on the grooms face.

Perfect style all the way!
