This past weekend I headed to downtown Raleigh to help photograph a city wide high-tech treasure hunt for a $20,000 diamond ring! The event was called “Ultimate Finders Keeper’s” and was hosted by Bailey’s Fine Jewelry. The object of the competition was to score the highest number of points by correctly answering questions that were delivered to each entrants cell phones.
Teams were made up of two players each and the winners would win a “passion cut” diamond ring that weighed in at over two carats. As you’ll see in the photographs below this was the real deal my friends. The after party took place at the popular Solas Restaurant and Lounge. Hundreds of couples participated in the event so the dual tier location was perfect. The weather was off and on rain all day so it made it a little tricky to get all of the photographs I would have wanted but I did my best.
I also have more individual photos on my facebook if you’d like to to see CLICK HERE.

Mr. and Ms. Wuf (the NC State University Mascots) set up for a “howling” good proposal…

A few teams really got into the event and made their own matching outfits!

Check out the detailed engagement rings hanging from her belt loops on the left and the gigantic diamond ring “bling bracelet” on the right.

The clue here asked what measurment was used on the canon near the State Capitol building near Fayetteville Street.

One of the clues required teams to travel to the Governors Mansion in downtown Raleigh.

I get by… with a little help… from the Moore Square Information Center…

Do you know the answer to this riddle?

The event backed right up to the opening of The City Plaza in Downtown Raleigh. The Wide Open Raleigh 4 event was going on at the same time that weekend. This couple tried to get their bearings in the middle of it all.

As the time was running out, everyone was scrambling to get some final answers in.

Trey and Doug from Bailey’s Jewelry show off the box that everyone wanted to call their own on at the end of the event.

Something tells me that this little one was at the pirate exhibit at the Raleigh History Museum.

The owner of Bailey’s… “Big Clyde” Bailey and John Hackett of Solas pose for a quick portrait.

Each participating couple received a gift bag with a sizeable gift certificate to the store.

The top ten winners were notified live by phone.

One of th runner-up prizes was a pair of tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes game.

Another winner. At first he thought it was his mom calling…

Dialing the winning couples phone…

Who will it be?

It’s you!

The winners couldn’t wait to open the box… however it was sealed up quite tight and they had a hard time getting the wrapping paper off.

WRAL was on hand to cover the event.

Now THAT is a nice ring!
