The Carolina Inn / Newman Catholic Student Center (Shana + Scott)

The Harrington and Lowery family hosted a beautiful wedding Friday, July 10th at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill North Carolina. The ceremony was held at The Newman Catholic Student Center across the street and the wedding reception was held in The Old Well Room.

The ceremony was simple yet meaningful and I think many of us got a little choked up at various points. Since we walked back and forth from the ceremony to reception site it made for some fun photos and a lot of “Congratulations!” from Chapel Hill and UNC residents…

This crew was a fun group and didn’t disappoint (as promised in dad’s toast) on the dance floor later in the evening. One of my favorite moments was when Jeff from Simpsound DJ services played Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” and we were able to gather up the groomsmen to show us their moonwalk skills! See below for the fun…

I must admit that I’m a bit jealous that Shana and Scott are on their honeymoon right now in Europe and have been reporting in through facebook with some great photos. Shana has mentioned that Venice was her favorite so far and I have to agree. When I was photographing there, St. Peter’s Basilica was a must visit in the little time I had available. I can’t describe how huge it is on the inside. You just have to see it for yourself.

And last but not least… here are a few of the vendors I can recommend. Everyone did a great job to pull of an amazing event. Bravo to all!

VENDORS:
Event Planner: Katie Cathey The Carolina Inn
Florist: Tre Bella
DJ: Simpsound

“Billie Jean” was perfectly appropriate due to the squares on the floor. If you don’t know what I’m talking about check the music video.

Even though they didn’t have a traditional wedding send off I suggested some fun with this with this tunnel of arms… Random I know but still made for some great shots!

Wakefield Plantation Weddings – TPC Golf Community

If you’re planning your wedding in the Raleigh or Wake Forest area the TPC Wakefield Plantation is an excellent wedding venue to consider. As a wedding photographer I always enjoy lush green landscapes to pose my bride and groom on. The Wakefield Plantation is a full service private Country Club that sits on over two hundred acres. The clubhouse itself overlooks the 18th hole and includes a Terrace Patio for your guest to relax on. The beautiful Williamsburg Ballroom can hold up to 200 guests and there is a separate dining area that can also be converted or joined together to accommodate larger events.

JC Raulston Arboretum Bridal Portrait / Wedding (Audrey)

I had a chance to photograph Audrey and her fiance and we had a blast together. After seeing the photographs she was excited about getting a bridal portrait as well so we headed to the JC Raulston Arboretum before her wedding day to make sure she had some amazing photographs to show off. At the risk of sounding like a surfer dude, I’m totally stoked about this post!

I feel truly excited to share a few of these photographs. I owe most of that feeling to the fact that Audrey was a rockstar model and she didn’t even know it… Her bouquet was made of a beautiful hydrangea arrangement and she had MATCHING blue shoes! I can’t wait to photograph those puppies during her wedding day.

I feel SO really sorry for Daniel because Audrey informed me that she has effectively banned him from my website until after the wedding. :) Audrey’s mom and sister joined her for the shoot and I can honestly say that I really like this family and am looking forward to seeing everyone at their wedding in October. If you don’t take the time to look at every photo please at least check out the “frog prince” and the “heart sunglasses” shots. They’re a riot!
